THE KRONONAUTA by Alessandro Garofalo CHIRO's Fashion Collection Fall/Winter 2007-2008

I very often perceived when I met people that most of them live the present without feeling part of it: they need to escape from
reality going into different historic periods. People need to escape from their "routine", they imagine themselves
gorgeously dressed as XVI century noble ladies, immersed in the most great magnificence, clouded with their face powders
with precious diamonds "parures". They fancy long walks in the flourishing palace park, dressed in rich brocades, protecting
themselves from the sun rays with lace parasols.
After a relaxing walk on a path between the willows, a new departure towards new eras, towards the future, the iper-technology,
the new plastic materials, glossy and glittering like metal. They want to get rid of rich garnments and dress minimal and ergonomics, to be pleased by the comfortable and easy technological way of life ...
To start again towards historic ages nearer to us, to go foxhunting in the early XX century green english landscapes dressed in
"Prince of Wales check" and dark brown and wood-like green with a style mixed between the Amazon and the soldier.
This is how the "CHIRO'S" collection starts. It gathers different hints from different historical periods to create a unique total look.
The "CHIRO'S" makes an imaginary journey through the different historical periods to be pleased with the different cultures, ways of
life, philosophys and habits of different ages. CHIRO's woman's look is created with clothes taken both from a baroque XVIII century wardrobe and a futuristic one. Hence, with Baroque and Victorian style, with old lace used in a
modern design , with rich silks that remind us distant and glamorous historical ages and colours such as beige or powder and
dust-like. But also metallic leathers, destructured and reconstructed lines, with steel-like buttons and buckles, with colours that go from alluminium to black, passing through the wood-like green and the chestnut brown.
I wanted to express the imaginary journey that origins the past and future dichotomy.
This is how the woman that explores different historic periods starts: THE KRONONAUTA.
